Communities in Bloom
See our beauty.
For Boissevain, beautification is a journey as well as a destination. That journey has brought with it a great deal of national and international recognition.
In October 2012 at the National Ceremonies for Communities in Bloom, Boissevain took its fourth major championship, winning the new Class of Champions (small) category. Boissevain won its traditional five blooms, and took the special mention for Community Dedication to Beautification. The competitors, who also all won five blooms, were past winners of the beautification competition, a category that was created in order to not only keep these elite communities on their toes, but also to encourage new towns to get involved.
This is Boissevain's fourth major championship within Commiunities in Bloom. In 1999 Boissevain won the National Communities in Bloom competition, the prestigious International Challenge in 2003 and the Individual World Challenge in 2006.
