Boissevain Minor Hockey
Boissevain Skating Club:
CanSkate and CanFigureSkate
- Held Wednesday evenings from late October to March.
- Coaches for 2010 include Megan Svistovski and Carol Evanson.
Pre-powerskate
- Designed for young skaters, approximately four to six years of age who can stand up on skates and move forward (shuffle, walk or glide) who may not be ready for CanPowerSkate Level 1. Pre-Power helps develop basic skating abilities in a power skating-specific environment, including balance skills, forward and backward skating, stopping, turning and agility skills.
Canpowerskate
- The only nationally regulated power skating program in Canada, is an action-packed, high energy program geared to hockey skaters that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skating skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. CanPowerSkate is geared to skaters aged approximately six or older who already have basic forward and backward skating skills and can stop without use of the boards. The program is divided into six levels: Levels 1 to 3 focus on the fundamentals of skating, Levels 4 to 6 place additional focus on efficient technique, speed, agility, technical aspects of stride and acceleration, and skating with the puck.
Synchronized Skating
- Synchro is a specialized discipline of skating involving skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. The objective is for the team to perform as one unit executing circles, blcks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating qualty edges, power and line.
